One Lovely Blog Award

Oh my goodness.

Amber  has nominated me for yet another award, this one is called the “One Lovely Blog Award.”

So now that I (semi)know how to do this, let’s go…

The rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you
  • Add the “One Lovely Blog Award” image to your post
  • Share 7 things about you
  • Pass the award on to seven nominees
  • Include this set of rules
  • Inform your nominees by posting a comment on their blogs

Thank you, Amber for nominating me. This blog isn’t too interesting, it’s just random stuff. I never would have thought anyone would ever nominate me for anything!

Share 7 things about myself?!?!

  1. Despite walking the way I do, I’m actually 5’11.
  2. I can play a variety of instruments as well as read sheet music.
  3. I still build forts out of blankets.
  4. When I was 7, my dad brought home a bullfrog. I kissed it.
  5. I totally believe in paranormal or supernatural things. Spirits are real!
  6. My favourite flower is a stargazer lily.
  7. I’ve never played D&D but I’ve always wanted to try.

I’m going to cheat a little bit. I’m only going to nominate one person.

Ramblings of a Jerk, I nominate you. Why? I like you and I like reading your posts.

Everyone else, well… I’m sorry.

The Missy Award

I’m not going to lie, I don’t know anything about this. I’ve never been… awarded anything before and I’m not entirely sure how it works… so, I’ll just write a post about it!

Amber from nominated me!

Thank you!

So, I’m supposed to link back to the originator? She has a beautiful dog…

What inspires or motivates you to write?

I’ll be honest, I was a poet. I wrote nothing but poetry and the odd diary entry, it was a coping method and unfortunately, I can’t write poetry as easily as before. But writing has always been a passion, and I find that, not to be arrogant, I’m quite good at it. I originally started a blog as a means of retaining my memory as my pills were affecting it. Besides, what’s more fun than having somewhere where you can share everything while still being anonymous? Writing is like… my free therapy.

Why do you love animals?

I’m not sure. As the stories go, when I was a baby, I wouldn’t talk, so the doctors suggested we get a dog and that’s what my parents did. I chose the most beautiful, pure-white lab/shepard dog named Echo. We even had to teach her how to bark! She was a big part of my childhood. We also had Misty, our cat. As I got older, I’d find myself outside, playing with snails, catching butterflies or caterpillars, and eventually, snakes and turtles! Ahem, and tadpoles… and frogs… and, and, and… I even had a horse friend I’d go visit!

When I was 18, I got my cat, Thumper. He was the greatest cat of all time, really! Unfortunately, he passed away, but look at what a great sport he was:

IMG100Bwuahahaha, my little cat in the hat.

So now I have my dog and my snake. What really made me love animals? It probably had to do with the environment I grew up in. Though I was born in the city, I was raised in the country, and that’s where I call home. As a kid, we were very outdoorsy. We were always going on trips, whether to go fishing or swimming or visiting people with animals and what have you, so from a young age, I was exposed to all kinds of animals. When I was 5, I even saved a bird.

I used to think I was Snow White.

Animals love me, and I love them, I don’t know why exactly, but I find that they’re better (and easier to get along with!) than humans.
